Bloom's Taxonomy
A six-level hierarchy of cognitive skills used to structure learning objectives — from basic recall to creative synthesis. We apply this framework to ensure each module targets the right depth of understanding.
- Create — Produce new or original work (design, build, construct, develop, author)
- Evaluate — Justify a decision or course of action (appraise, argue, defend, judge, critique)
- Analyze — Draw connections among ideas (differentiate, organize, relate, compare, deconstruct)
- Apply — Use information in new situations (execute, implement, solve, demonstrate, operate)
- Understand — Explain ideas or concepts (classify, describe, discuss, explain, summarize)
- Remember — Recall facts and basic concepts (define, duplicate, list, memorize, recall)
Training Needs Analysis — ADDIE Model
The ADDIE model is a systematic instructional design framework for Training Needs Analysis, used to create effective and targeted learning experiences. It consists of five phases:
- Analyze — Review learning objectives, establish outcomes, and assess organisational context to meet audience needs.
- Design — Design customised content and structure for the target audience to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop — Build courseware using effective methodologies and activities aligned to learning objectives.
- Implement — Deliver pre- and post-course support; manage logistics and provide a conducive learning environment.
- Evaluate — Assess training effectiveness and impact; feed results back for course improvement and follow-up actions.
The ADDIE model also incorporates Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to ensure training is targeted and effective. TNA includes three key analyses: Organisational Analysis (aligning training with strategic business goals, workforce capability mapping, resource and budget analysis, and compliance requirements), Job Task Analysis (examining role-specific competencies, task breakdown and sequencing, performance standards, and KSA mapping), and Individual Analysis (skills gap assessment, performance-based identification, career pathway planning, and personalised learning paths).
